RBC Insurance® and Shoppers Drug Mart “Share Your Memories” Contest (the “Contest”)

This contest is sponsored by RBC Insurance and Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. (the “Sponsors”)

Please read these contest rules (“Contest Rules”) in their entirety before entering the Contest. Do not enter the Contest unless you agree to these Contest Rules. Participation in the Contest constitutes unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Contest Rules which are final on all matters relating to the Contest. By entering this Contest you agree to be bound by the decisions of contest judges which are final and binding in all respects.

  1. CONTEST PERIOD: The contest runs from October 3, 2013 at 03:00:00 pm EDT to December 30, 2013 at 03:00:00 pm EDT (the “Contest Period”).
  2. ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence on or before the start of the Contest Period. Employees of the Sponsors and of the Associate/Owners of Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores and those with whom they are domiciled, its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, advertising or promotional agencies or the independent contest organization are not eligible.
  3. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, entrants must complete an online survey by visiting the Sweepstakes landing page located at rbcinsurance.shoppersdrugmart.ca/contest (opens external website in new window) rbcassurances.pharmaprix.ca/contest (opens external website in new window). Entrants can receive one (1) additional entry into the Contest by accessing and submitting the travel insurance quote through the link provided on the unique Sweepstakes web page. Entrants will receive one (1) entry for completing the online survey, and one (1) entry for submitting a quote for a maximum of two (2) entries into the contest. Limit of two (2) entries per person. The entry process requires the collection of the following personal information: name, year of birth, mailing address, email address, phone number and future travel plans. Any entry that the Sponsors deem, in their sole and absolute discretion, to violate these Contest Rules will not be considered a valid entry. Use of any robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry method or more than two (2) entries per person during the Contest Period will void all entries and result in disqualification.
  4. PRIZE(S): One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded, consisting of a $5000.00CDN Vacation Certificate from Assured Assistance Inc. Travel Certificate is valid for (12) twelve months from the date of issuance, for travel products available through Assured Assistance Inc., and may be subject to restrictions. Travel transaction must be completed in one booking and no balance will be held, nor cash refund offered, if purchase made is less than the value of the certificate. The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsors in their sole and absolute discretion). No substitutions except at Sponsors’ option. Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the Grand Prize or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater value, including, without limitation, but at Sponsors’ sole and absolute discretion, a cash award. All of the features and characteristics of the Grand Prize, unless otherwise explicitly provided herein, is at the Sponsors’ sole discretion.
  5. CONSENT TO MARKET TO ENTRANTS: By entering this Contest, each entrant permits the Sponsors, their agents, promotional agencies, representatives and Contest judges to collect the information submitted with the entry and to use it to administer the Contest. You also permit RBC Insurance to use and share this information with other RBC® companies to promote to you products and services that may be of interest to you, unless prohibited by law. RBC Insurance and RBC companies may communicate with you through various channels, including telephone, computer or mail, using the contact information you have provided. You acknowledge that as a result of such sharing they may advise RBC Insurance of those products or services provided. Entrant also consent to the use of his/her name, city or province and/or photograph, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Sponsors and/or their advertising and promotional agencies relative to this Contest.   6. DRAW: A random selection will be made by an independent contest organization, in Toronto at 2:00 pm EDT, on January 15, 2014 from among all eligible entries based on, and as determined solely by the Sponsors’ records at the end of the Contest Period, which records will be deemed final and conclusive on all matters. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be contacted by telephone or email, and must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question to be posed by telephone at a mutually convenient time and date. If the selected entrant incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, or cannot be contacted within (7) seven days of being selected, his or her entry will be disqualified and another will be randomly selected until the prize has been awarded. The winner will be notified by the Sponsors to make arrangements for the awarding of the prize. Winner will be required to sign a standard Declaration of Compliance, Liability Release form and Publicity Release which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Contest Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Grand Prize as awarded; (iii) releases the Sponsors and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Grand Prize or any portion thereof; and (iv) consents to the use of his/her name, city or province and/or photograph, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the Sponsors and/or their advertising and promotional agencies relative to this Contest.
  7. ADDITIONAL TERMS: All entries become the property of the Sponsors who assume no responsibility for garbled, inaudible, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. Sponsors do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, effect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. In the event of a dispute over email entries, the entrant will be deemed to be the holder of the email account.
  8. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Sponsors, in their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the property conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes, the Sponsors reserves their right, subject only to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the “Régie”) in Quebec, without need of individual notice, to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest in whole or in part, including, without limitation, canceling any method of entry, and/or selecting a winner from previously received eligible entries. Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Contest Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Any attempts to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such attempt be made the Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Contest Sponsors shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest or from downloading any material from the Contest website, where applicable.
  9. For residents of Québec: Any litigation respecting to the conduct or organization of this publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the prize may be submitted to the Régie, only for purposes of helping the parties reach a settlement. For all other participants any litigation must be initiated in the City of Toronto, in Ontario, Canada.
